We are a small family run smokehouse based in Ripponden producing high quality smoked produce from traditional smoked salmon, hot roast salmons and mackerels, kippers, oak smoked chicken & duck to fresh smoked haddock chowders, smoked cheeses, bacons and speciality hams.
We take the best quality locally sourced meat, fish and dairy products which are then slowly cured and smoked to our own unique recipes to finish with excellent and tasty smoked food products. Real food as it should be.
Nestled in the hillside of Ripponden, in the heart of the Pennines hills we gently cure and traditionally smoke high quality locally sourced ingredients using our own recipes in our purpose built traditional smokehouse. We pride ourselves on producing outstanding wood smoked foods free from artificial colours and flavourings.
As well as believing in providing the best quality products we also care about the providence & care of the pigs . To ensure the best flavours can be produced it is a firm belief of ours the pork products must, and indeed do, come from locally sourced free range pigs providing the best quality succulent pork possible.
The pigs we use come from carefully selected local free range farms, all of whom rear free range pigs that are naturally slower to fatten and therefore giving the rare breed taste and flavour. These animals are raised as naturally as possible and medications and growth promoters are avoided wherever possible by using high welfare and good stockmanship.
This gives us, along with our traditional recipes and smoking techniques the best quality and tasty bacon, ham and sausage produce.
Salmon, (whilst not in huge abundance in the local pennine rivers!) is sourced from local suppliers only using either Scottish or Norwegian fish.
It is salted and smoked with sweet-smelling chippings of oak producing either our traditionally smoked salmon or our exquisite kiln roast ready to eat smoked salmon (also known by many as hot roast salmon)
